Swimmers and sunbathers on a beach in Malinska on a summer day

Malinska Prices: What a Day Really Costs in 2026

I’m Jura, a speedboat skipper in Malinska, and I have spent every summer here since I was born. Guests often ask me about Malinska prices before they arrive. They want to know what parking costs, whether beaches are free and how much a simple lunch will be.

So here is an honest overview. Where I have an official price, I give it. Where prices change from place to place, I tell you what to expect and how to save.

Getting to Malinska: the bridge is free

The Krk Bridge has had no toll since June 2020. You simply drive onto the island and Malinska is about 15 minutes away. The only real travel costs are fuel and motorway tolls on the mainland.

If you are still planning the route, read how to get to Malinska.

Parking prices in Malinska

Parking is run by the local company Dubašnica d.o.o. These are the official 2026 prices:

  • Zone 1 (centre, Obala, Porat marina): €1.30 per hour or €9.00 per day.
  • Zone 2 (spring, autumn and summer car parks): €1.00 per hour or €7.00 per day.
  • 7-day ticket for Zone 2: €30.00, a good deal if you stay a week.

You can pay at the machine with coins or a €5 note. You can also pay by SMS: send your number plate to 700001 for Zone 1 or 700002 for Zone 2. One SMS covers one hour, so wait for the confirmation.

Want to pay nothing? Park at the big supermarkets at the entrance to town. My free parking guide lists the best spots.

A beach day: what is free and what is not

All beaches in Malinska are public and free. You do not pay to swim or to lie on your own towel.

  • Loungers and umbrellas: Rupa, the main town beach, has loungers for rent. Prices are posted at the beach and change by season.
  • Showers and changing cabins: the bigger beaches have them, so you rarely need to pay extra.
  • Water shoes: most beaches are pebble or concrete. A cheap pair from a shop in the centre is money well spent, especially for kids.

My tip: in July and August, bring your own umbrella and come before 9 am. You will save money and get the best shade. See all options in my Malinska beaches guide.

Coffee, ice cream and lunch

Café and restaurant prices on Krk are similar to the rest of the Croatian coast. As a rough guide for 2026:

  • Coffee: about €2.50 to €3.50.
  • Local beer (0.5 l): about €3.50 to €5.
  • Pizza: about €10 to €15.

Fish and seafood cost more, and the price often depends on weight. Always ask before you order fish “by the kilo”. Menus with prices are usually outside, so you can check first. My favourite places are in where to eat in Malinska.

Tourist tax and hotel deposits

Every guest pays a small tourist tax per night. Children under 12 pay nothing, and teenagers pay half. Your host or hotel usually adds it to the bill, so ask if it is already included in the price.

Some hotels and apartments ask for a deposit or a card guarantee. This is normal, but ask about it before you book, so there are no surprises at check-in. For my recommendations, see where to stay in Malinska.

A day on a boat

This is the one bigger cost I always recommend. A day of boat rental is about €250. Split between four or five people, it is often cheaper than a day of loungers, drinks and lunch on a busy beach.

With up to 5 HP you do not even need a licence. Read renting a boat without a licence, or ask me about a trip with a skipper.

How to spend less in Malinska

  • Park smart: use Zone 2 or the 7-day ticket instead of Zone 1.
  • Shop at supermarkets: buy water, fruit and snacks for the beach.
  • Eat your main meal at lunch: many restaurants have a cheaper daily menu.
  • Travel in June or September: the sea is still warm and the town is calmer.
